Participants & Introductions
The group conducted a creative introduction exercise where participants shared meaningful objects:
- Chris Lunch (InsightShare) - France - Shared a handmade flower bouquet from recycled materials made by his wife. Builds tools for participatory videos to help communities tell their stories.
- Carla - Munich, Germany (originally Australia) - Shared her 9-week-old kitten. Building a "Pokemon Go for good" gamification platform with brands initially, transitioning to bottom-up participatory decision-making.
- Simon Donovan - UK - Shared a recycled metal singer (musical instrument). Focus on "connecting" and "sense making."
- Carlo - Sweden (originally Germany) - Shared "The Diversity Bonus" book by Scott Page. Researching collective intelligence and deliberative processes through "Evocracy" project. Co-organizes Democracy Innovators podcast with Alessandro.
- Alessandro - Shared a handmade backpack. Co-hosts Democracy Innovators podcast with Carlo, interested in civic tech projects.
- Simone - PhD student in law, science and technology. Thesis on AI-mediated participation. Shared a harmonica as a metaphor for intuitive expression.
- Artem Zhiganov - Serbia - Shared a personalized harmonica. Building Harmonica tool for online deliberation. Used harmonica as metaphor for community harmony with different "reeds" (members) creating melodies.
- Momcilo - Shared binaural recording glasses for capturing live music. Researches sense-making, relationships, social structures through metamodernism lens. Works with Life Itself organization.
- Brayden Beckius - Working on PhD proposal on fractal systems thinking and planetary community. Network weaver focused on coherence between movements and breaking silos.
- Liz Barry (Metagov) - California - Shared water bottle as metaphor for environmental connection. Former Polis team member, now fundraising for deliberative tooling initiatives. Working on national deliberative platform for Scotland government.
